Answer:

It is important for every nurse regardless of their knowledge base, skill set, and length of time in the profession to have a nursing philosophy. Nursing to me is a calling to provide scientific based care others when they are unable to care for themselves. It is about a relationship that is built on trust. Trust in the nurse to provide, effective, safe, quality, culturally considerate, evidenced based care to each individual patient based on their specific needs to return them to a state of health. Also remembering that the patient’s “family” or significant other are an important part in patient care.  Nursing also means addressing preventive care and promoting healthy lifestyles to benefit individual patients, themselves, and society as a whole.
