Governments around the world play a critical role in regulating business activities in their respective countries. Through negotiations, governments facilitate signing of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements that are focused on improving trade relationships between and among the countries involved. Among the most important areas of trade agreements is free and fair trade policies that are made between two countries or among various countries. Failure to agree on free and fair trade policies usually leads to trade wars that are not beneficial to any of the countries involved. In this regard, this paper will focus on New York Times article written by Myers (2020), titled “Buffeted by Trump, China Has Little Hope for Warmer Relations With Biden,” which focuses on the US-China trade wars.
Summary of the Article
