For this week’s discussion, I chose an article in the Journal of The American Academy of Pediatrics regarding asking for identification and retail tobacco sales to minors. A single county study was done before that found that a large number of illegal tobacco sales still occurred after minors showed proof of identification that they were too young even though retail stores usually asked young-looking tobacco customers for identification.  To test this on a larger scale, state reports for federal fiscal years 2017 and 2018 from a federal agency that tracks tobacco sales to supervised minors conducting compliance checks in retail stores were obtained.
